IT’S HOT !
While the snow goes on falling on Paris, paralyzing the whole city, I wander through Emanuela Ligabue’s website, dreaming of warm summer days freshen up by the soft blow of paper fans… Amanuela’s handpainted pieces are just beautiful and reminds me of Matisse paintings and paper cuts. This postmodernist artist from the 80’s creates very stunning objects, from paper fans to painted bags, combining retro graphics and nice color palettes. Just love it !
SAND CHAIR SERIE
This colorful series of furniture called “Sand Chair” has been created by the swiss design duo Lovis Caputo and Sarah Keung of Keung Caputo. Every stool is unique and can be used indoors and out.
Here’s a new delightful found from tumblr my friends. Stella Baggott, a designer, photographer and pottery geek (as she likes to define herself) reached the top of my faves list this week. She creates very nice ceramic characters, all very different and unique.
Have a look to her website, it definitely worth it !

I just came back from London where I had the pleasure to visitCouverture and the Garbstore, a beautiful shop based in Notting Hill. They showcased the first pieces of BBC SS 13 collection (among other little treasures), and I got to say that it was love at first sight… Bright and clean colors, fresh fruity patterns… this makes me crave sunny days even more !

I’m smitten with those awesome raw leather accessories by Yue. Designed by Sarah Chow, those clever and simple yet elegant pieces have been inspired by Chow’s family leather goods. French design duo Colonel chose to explore the theme of vintage holidays for their last furniture collection. Inspired by the patterns, colors and materials of the camping and beach supplies, they created a serie of cosy and fresh products re-reading this singular universe with modernity and nostalgia. Pretty smart uh ?

BLOCK SHOP SCARVES
I just found this beautiful and inspiring project on the web, and immediately fell in love with it, not only because of the rich colors and gorgeous patterns adorning their scarves, but also for their concept.
Sisters Lily and Hopie Stockman founded their own textile company in India a few years ago after they started to be passionnate about block printing and decided to support this ancient textile tradition. They associated with one of the best printers family of Bagru, the Chhipas, who are - for about five generations - strongly devoted to environmentally sustainable and socially responsible printing methods. Together, they created a unique collection of textiles printed with non-toxic vegetable dyes on the finest Indian silk-cotton blend. Simply beautiful.
Find more here and here.
You probably heard about the German illustrator and graphic designer Karolin Schnoor.

CALEB OWEN EVERITT
This guy just stole my heart. I discovered his work last summer, when Refueled Magazine published an article about his stunning vintage inspired illustrations and graphics. Facsinated by anything hand made, Everitt explores how the human hands can bring subtile inperfections and reveal something authentic, true and honest through very simple and genuine design. He recently teamed up with Ryan Rhodes, his dear friend and partner in crime to create LAND, a flourishing design studio that already counts numerous impressive clients.

A PEACE TREATY
I go totally crazy for those amazing scarves by A Peace Treaty !
The story of APT started when Farah Malik and Dana Arbib decided to join forces, putting together their different background (in fashion and design for Malik and in multimedia campaigns in humanitarian causes for Arbib) and their common love for ancient, disappearing crafting creations. As a personnal pact, they gave birth to a project that would support artisans from Middle East, Asia, South America and Africa by promoting their traditional techniques and crafts and by revealing their products to an internationnal fashion audiance.
I wanted to share with you this beautiful project by photographer Jennifer Causey. The Makers series started in 2010 when Jennifer decided to photograph the artisans of Brooklyn. Fascinated by those creatives who “embrace a more tactile way of life” and who made of Brooklyn an “epicenter of design, style and locally made goods”, she entered their studios and decided to tell their stories.
The Makers Project will be soon released as a book in the fall of 2012.

IT’S ALL ABOUT SHARING
Cooking, eating and having some good time with friends is probably one of my all time favorite, so there’s no suprise my heart jumped into my chest when I discovered this new born magazine called Gather Journal. This bi-annual recipe-driven and food publication is not only about cooking and eating, but more likely about what those acts inspire : the bringing of people together.
Each issue - divided into chapters such as “amuses bouche”, “starters”,”mains” and “desserts” - is a great source of inspiration, sharing some interresting articles about ingredients, lushly imagined photographies, memorable eating experience, and delightful recipes.
Bon appétit !
Neëst is a beautiful online shop that offers a selection of natural homewares and accessories inspired by modern japanese design and traditional scandinavian objects. Inspiring isn’t it ?

I had the chance to meet Laura Väinölä, a young Finish graphic designer when I used to live in Finland. This talented lady is part of the Kokoro & Moi crew, but also works on several personnal projects, like Pally, a creative and playful stool for kids and grown-ups.
By moving the sticks from the seat, you can use your imagination and create countless patterns and drawings, changing it according to your mood.
I recently came through an article about Osborn Shoes, a young Guatemalian footwear label born with the dream of their founders, Aaron and Carla Osborn, to merge humanitary and design : their beautiful and unique shoes, all hand-made from traditional and bright coloured fabrics, dated and signed by their makers, are created by anonymous local artisans.
